Our Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) was developed in collaboration with a biotechnology laboratory. It is synthetically produced therefore it is 100% free from any human or animal derivatives and yet it is bio-identical. We use the same manufacturing method and a similar purification technique used by pharmaceutical industry, to produce our synthetic EGF.
How does the triple-filtration process works:
At stage 1: misfolded growth factors are removed as they can counteract EGF activity. Only correctly folded EGF has biological activity. At stage 2: proteases are carefully removed to ensure higher stability and longer shelf-life. Proteases break down proteins such as growth factors decreasing their stability over time. At stage 3: endotoxins are removed, to eliminate any risk of irritation or allergic reaction. To finish, Medik8 encapsulates triple-filtered EGF inside a liposome delivery system. It is therefore more stable and more efficient at penetrating the skin, leading to higher efficacy.
The end formula is a pure, stable and highly efficacious and bioavailable serum.
