Hydr8 Day for Normal to Dry Skin provides the skin with numerous nutritional ingredients, such as Centella Asiatica and Panax Ginseng Extracts, visibly improving the condition and appearance of the skin. A special blend of humectants called Moisture Magnet™ increase the cells’ capability of binding water and enable their proper functionality while multiple vector antioxidants, including the Superoxide Dismutase (SOD), help scavenge harmful free-radicals. Additionally Jojoba Oil caters for dry skin with excellent moisture levels and a velvety smooth after-feel.

The creamy emollient base of Hydr8 Day for Normal to Dry Skin will suit even the most demanding dry and combination skin.

The formula is enriched with our unique Pre-SPF® complex containing Ectoin, which helps protect the skin from solar damage without blocking UV. Ectoin is a natural substance containing strong DNA and cell membrane protectant properties against the damaging effects of UV. Ectoin helps prevent damage to Langerhans cells, which exercise one of the fundamental roles in the cells’ metabolism. It induces fast formation of Heat-Shock proteins (HSP) under stress, reduces the formation of sunburn cells and reduces the chemical and physical damage to cell membranes.

Thanks to its Retinyl Palmitate content, Hydr8 Day shows the ability to help trigger collagen synthesis. Retinyl Palmitate is a fat based form of vitamin A, which transforms on the skin into well known anti-ageing active Retinol. Since Retinyl Palmitate loses its potency when exposed to sun light, the formula has been additionally strengthened by broad spectrum UV filters.

Ectoin or Medik8® Pre-SPF® has completed a new clinical study in Germany, the results of which add to the growing weight of evidence supporting Medik8’s decision to spearhead Hydr8™ Day with Pre-SPF®. The aim of the study was to assess an Ectoin formulation with regards to the anti-aging properties.

The study was designed as a monocentric, randomized, double-blind application test, in order to ensure the compatibility and efficacy of Ectoin in comparison to vehicle emulsion. A total of 104 voluntary healthy female test subjects were included in the study. Moisturising properties as well as other parameters of skin aging, like skin texture and skin elasticity, were determined for treatment A (vehicle) and treatment B (2% Ectoin) versus an untreated control. Statistical evaluations according to the Wilcoxon rank-sum test indicate a general preference for Ectoin treatment by the test subjects in both the application and the efficacy tests. None of the participating test subjects had any side effects throughout the study. (Skin Pharmacol Physiol 2007;20;211-218).

In terms of anti-ageing properties, previous in vitro studies could be confirmed by this clinical trial, clarifying that the natural cell protection of Ectoin is transferable to skin care with multitude benefits.

Both Hydr8™ Day products contain the Pre-SPF® Ectoin®, plus the powerful antioxidant enzyme - Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) and Retinyl Palmitate (vitamin A) which help to protect the skin’s own cellular DNA and Langerhans cells from ultraviolet radiation induced damage and consequent premature ageing.

In the morning, after cleansing, apply a small amount of Hydr8 Day to face, neck and décolleté, avoiding upper and lower eyelids and lips. Use light, upward strokes and allow cream to absorb before applying other sunscreen products and/or make up, if desired.

If irritation occurs, rinse off with water. If irritation persists, cease use and contact your skincare professional.

In the event of continuous direct sun exposure, re-apply SPF products every four hours or after swimming,
showering etc.
